كنيسة مار دانيال - حدث الجبّةبعد تحوّلهم الى المسيحيّة حوّل أهالي الحدث معبدهم إلى كنيسةٍ على اسم مار الياس، ما زالت قائمة في القسم الجنوبيّ. سنة ١١١٠ باشرت بناء كنيسة مار دانيال صالومي إبنة الخوري باسيل من بشرّي. تعرّض البناء للخراب على يد المماليك سنة ١٢٨٣. وأخذ البناء شكله الحاليّ في زمن حبريّة البطريرك شمعون الحدثيّ. رُمّم البناء أواخر القرن العشرين. الكنيسة بازيليكيّة الطراز بعقد مصالب وثلاث حنايا مع رواق خارجيّ معقود. تحوي الكنيسة ثلاث لوحات لداوود القرم تعود للقرن التاسع عشر.The church of St Daniel - Hadath el JubbaAfter the conversion of the people of Hadath el Jubba, they converted an old pagan shrine to a church dedicated to St Elijah the prophet. In 1110 Salome the daughter of the priest Basil of Bsharre began building a new church dedicated to Daniel the prophet. The church was destroyed by the Mamluks in 1283. It then took its final shape during the pontificate of Patriarch Chamoun el Hadathy, and was renovated in the late XXth century. The church consists of a basilical plan with three naves with arched vaults and three apses, with an external ambulatory. It holds three paintings by Dawoud el Qor

كنيسة سيّدة الغابة - بيت شباب

بنُيت الكنيسة الأولى في القرن السابع عشر، واعتنى بإعادة بنائها آل الحايك مرّتين سنة ١٧٧٢ و١٧٧٣. خُرّبت أثناء حملة إبراهيم باشا فأعاد ترميمها الأمير حيدر أبي اللمع سنة ١٨٤٠. أخذت شكلها الحاليّ سنة ١٩٠٠ ورُمّمت سنة ١٩٩٠. في الكنيسة عدّة لوحات أهمّها اللوحة القديمة التي تعود للقرن السادس عشر، كان قد رسم فوقها كنعان ديب لوحة أخرى لم تعد موجودة سنة ١٨٣٩ وقد جرّحها فارسٌ درزيّ في أحداث ١٨٦٠، وقد نُقلت عنها لوحة لحبيب سرور تعود لسنة ١٩١٩.
The church of Our Lady of the Forest - Beit Chabeb

The church was first built in the XVIIth century, then rebuilt by the Hayek family in 1726 and 1773. It was damaged during the campaign of Mehmet Ali Pasha and restored by Prince Haidar Abi Ll Lamah in 1840. It took its final shape in year 1900, and then restored 90 years later. The church holds many paintings the most important ones being the old XVIth century icon of the Madona, that was covered by another painting by Kanaan Dib drawn in year 1839 that is no longer present. This painting was attacked by a Druze knight in the war of 1860. Habib Srour drew a copy of it in 1919.

دير مار شليطا - القبيات

يقع الدّير في منطقة وادي حلسبان، في الأصل كان البناء معبدًا رومانيًّا للإله بان إله الرعيان والمواشي. حوّله الأهالي إلى كنيسةٍ بيزنطيّة على اسم القدّيس شليطا (أرتاميوس) شفيع الحيوانات والمواشي، إشارةً إلى تحوّلهم من الوثنيّة. بقي الدّير مُهملاً فترةً طويلةً، فآل إلى الخراب. خلال تسعينيّات القرن العشرين رُمّم الدّير، لكنّ الترميم أزال قسمًا كبيرًا من معالمه. أصبح الدّير اليوم مقصدًا للسيّاح ومحجًّا.

The monastery of Chalita - Kobayyat

The monastery is located in the valley of Helesban. The building was a roman temple dedicated to Pan the god of shepherds. The temple was converted into a church during the byzantine era and was dedicated to St Chalita (Arthemius) the patron saint of animals and heards. After the middle ages, the monastery fell into ruins for along time. The structure was restored in the last decade of the XXth century, yet the restoration destroyed many of the original elements. The monastery became a pilgrimage site.

كاتدرائيّة مار اسطفان - البترون

بُنيت كاتدرائية مار أسطفان على أنقاض كنيسةٍ أقدم عهدًا سنة ١٩١٠، يوم كانت المدينة في أوجّ نموّها. تتميّز الكاتدرائيّة أنّها تجمع الطراز النيوكلاسيكيّ والنيوبيزطيّ. مبنيّة على نمطٍ بازيليكيّ بثلاث أسواقٍ تنتهي بثلاث حنايا وفيها ثلاث مذابح. تحوي الكنيسة كرسيّ الأسقف، لوحة غربيّة الصنع لمار أسطفان، بيما للوعظ، وجرن للعماد ذات قبّة. واجهتها الغربيّة تطلّ على المرفأ وتتميّز بقبابها التي يتوسطها تمثال مار اسطفان.

St Stephen’s cathedral - Batroun

The cathedral was built over an older church in 1910, during the city’s economical peak. The chuch combines neoclassical and neo Byzantine styles, according to a basilical plan with three naves and three semi circular apses with altars. The cathedral holds the episcopal chair, a western painting of St Stephen, a pulpit, and a western style domed baptisimal font. The western facade of the church overlooks the city’s port, with two domes ans St Stephen’s statue between them.
